The cold weather is coming and I had a little taste of that this past week. Thursday morning, I woke up to a chilly...no, freezing 32 degrees.
Now, while I lived down South, we did in fact have some very cold weather. But it was generally in spurts and didn't stick around too long. Now being back in a Northern state, I am well aware of the frigid temps, wind chill factors, ice storms and snow will be at my door--and SOON.
Unless I can convince/bribe the dog to sleep with me at night, I'm going to freeze! I thought maybe I could tuck a little milkbone under the pillow...but decided against it. The dog would probably keep me up half the night digging for it and then getting crumbs in my bed.
I guess that's when I really start to feel my single-ness the most. Cold nights alone in my bed, freezing my pop tarts off. Sure I could buy yet another electric blanket, but the way my 4 yr old grandson climbs and jumps on my bed, I don't think it would be safe. I already had one catch fire while I was asleep once a few years ago. Nothing like a little snap, crackle and pop to rouse you out of your slumber! (not to mention the smell)
Here's hoping you all have a warm bed, an even warmer partner and lots of quilts~because winter's cold is just around the bend.
Love and Hugs,
Granni
